2024: Year Round-Up

A group of dancers holding colourful scarves perform outdoors in front of a live audience.
This year has been an inspiring journey of growth and transformation for Candoco Dance Company - a year of embracing fresh commitments and perspectives, laying the foundation for an even brighter 2025.

Open Practice

Two dancers in a studio: one with long, flowing hair kneels on the floor, extending one leg forward and arms open. In the background, another dancer stands with one arm extended to the side, elbow slightly bent, and hand pointing downward.
Inspired by Gather Up, these sessions create a space for artists to connect, share ideas, and support each other. It’s an opportunity to explore, create, and learn together in a welcoming environment, using peer-to-peer feedback in support of each other's creative practice.

The Working Group’s Statement

Five dancers on stage, two are sat at the back and three are lined up at the front. The person in the middle is standing in front of microphone with their mouth open and a surprised look on their face. On the right, one person making a funny face with arms raised above their head and leg raised off the ground. The person on the left is looking at the dancer in the middle with a serious look on their face.
Candoco Dance Company, Corali, People Dancing, Stopgap Dance Company and TIN Arts are co-collaborators in a shared enquiry and Working Group to challenge ourselves and others to increase and sustain the presence and representation by disabled people* in the dance workforce and its leadership.
