The Working Group

Candoco is a founding member of The Working Group, a coalition of leading disabled dance organisations committed to increasing and sustaining the presence of disabled people in the dance workforce and its leadership. Together, the group commissioned the landmark research Barriers to Progression and Employment in Dance for Disabled People, published in 2025, which identified systemic barriers across competition, chance, cost, community, care, confidence and culture. The Working Group continues to call on the wider dance sector to act on the findings and commit to meaningful, long-term change
